Connor McDonough-Flynn (@ConMcFlynn) #TakingTheStage on July 23rd 2015 at Jesters Comedy Club (@DublinComedy) in O’Donoghues (@PubODonoghues), Suffolk Street. Doors 19:30.

Lineup:

DARREN LALOR

Darren Lalor has quickly become one of the best acts to hit the comedy scene in the last few years.

“Born to do stand-up” – Hotpress

“Thoughtful humour, that at times bordered on poignant” – entertainment.ie

MEADHBH HAICEID:

Meadhbh Haicéid is a human being, real in all the right places. She opens her mouth, and words come out. But that’s not all! Or is it? Come along to see for yourself… “Awkward”, “naïve”, “off-beat”, “hilarious”; these are just some of the words Meadhbh can say aloud. She’d like to be your friend, but can you return the favour? There’s only one way to find out. You may know Meadhbh’s comedic persona from Tom Walsh’s ‘House of Comedians’ (Dublin Fringe), her one-woman show MADONNA (Dublin Fringe) and/or ‘The Three Friends’ (Galway Fringe, The Electric Picnic).

MAXINE JONES:

Maxine Jones (BBC Radio 4, RTE) is taking her third show to Edinburgh. She toured the others in Ireland and the UK, including Leicester Square Theatre, Stafford Gatehouse, Helix, Axis, Draiocht and Mill Theatre Dublin (where it sold out over four nights). Maxine runs Wicked Wolf Comedy Nights in Blackrock and gigs regularly in the UK. ‘The audience loved it’ Buxton Review ‘Top ten feminist fatales’ Chortle

AIDAN SHEILDS:

Aidan Shields, supreme leader of Juicebox Comedy club in Dundalk and probably one of the funniest men in his family. Finalist in Show Me the Funny 5 (2015) and also the proud owner of a Lucky Duck Award. Aidan also runs the comedy at Vantastival Music Festival and has played at numerous venues across Ireland and is a frequent performer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. One to watch, his comedy career is finally starting to shadow his only other success as runner-up in Dundalk’s Bonny Baby competition in 1985.

LISA CASEY:

Lisa is one of the most exciting and fastest rising new comedians on the scene. Starting off performing in her hometown dundalk lisa has been gigging all around Ireland and is known for her unique and quirky style. She can bring a lot to the stage in a short time and has a great stage presence. Winner of the HardyHar comedy competition 2015.

“With clever punch lines, silly impressions and musical whimsy all to her name, Lisa has what it takes to make you laugh. A worthy champion of our stage!” -Hardy Har Comedy Club.

Connor McDonough-Flynn:

His comedy is bizarre, bold and (un)balanced – he’s an arguably debatable spectator tempter. Connor will have you laughing away as he deals with the debaucherous topics that present themselves daily. The stimulating humdrum thoughts that arouse bemusement. And the oddball anecdotes that evoke smiles, from the lips, on your face. There’s a means to his madcap manoeuvres. He put on his first solo show (hour special): “I’m Not Special” at The Workman’s Club in Dublin on the 13th of March, 2015.

“…the man with the longest name/craziest eyes in comedy…” – Danny O’Hanlon

– His Show “I’m Not Special” debuted on March 13th 2015. Has done full runs in Galway Fringe Festival.

– Finalist in the Forbidden Fruit Comedy Talent Search
