January eh? Long cold nights,credit card bills,new year resolutions made and broken,well fret not because the ever popular ‘Show Me The Funny’ is back to help ease those winter blues. Starting on Mon Jan 11th at The Kings Head,High St,the first of 6 heats takes place to find Ireland’s newest and most exciting would be comedy superstar.

MC Gerry Mallon will introduce the first 8 acts,all vying for a place in the Grand Final,where the eventual winner will walk away with a much coveted slot at this years Electric Picnic Comedy Tent.There are also some fantastic runners up prizes including slots at the Vodafone Comedy Carnival and the Forbidden Fruit Festival.At each heat,there will be a special guest act from the circuit and on Mon 11th the wonderful Fred Cooke of Republic of Telly fame will bring his own brand of musical madness to the home of comedy in Galway.

Tickets which cost a recession busting 5 euro and includes a free pint of Bulmers (the title sponsors of the event) are available at the door which opens at 8pm with the show kicking off at 8.30pm.

That was only last year and since then Joanne has toured with PJ’s stand up show ‘Concussion’, appeared on the Late Late, performed at all the major comedy festivals including Body and Soul, Kilkenny Cat Laughs, Independence and was a featured act at the Vodafone Comedy Festival.

She’s now headlining her own two man show called ‘Separated At Birth’ which premiered in Vicar street and has been selling out venues across Ireland on its national tour.”

Competition time in the Hardy Har Comedy Club in January, where finalists will advance to a show at Bray Comedy Festival 2017, headlined by Jack Wise! The winner will also receive a performers package of paid gigs that include gigs in Bray, Dublin, Galway and Cork. All heats take place in Hardy Har Comedy Club in Bray supported by our home venue, The Harbour Bar!
